Re: my center console build and plans looks good, if it rots it will be from the bottom, you could add a footer to sit it on thats waterproof to prevent it wicking. standard pontoon helm cn200 console marine plywood. the standard boat console is the star attraction in every boat that has a motor.& have you noticed how yours is. I'd like to build a center console boat. 19-23 foot. most likely strip/composite construction. probably outboard powered. needs to be a good looking boat. the glen-l designs just don't have that sexiness. the landing school builds one that was on the cover of this year's motorboat mag put out by the folks at woodenboat. very nice looking boat. Measure and cut the top panel of the console from 3/4-inch marine plywood. measure and cut the forward panel of the console from a sheet of 3/4-inch marine plywood. ensure that the height and width of the forward panel equal that expressed by the console plans. measure and cut the rear panel of the console from a sheet of 3/4-inch marine plywood. 
diy boat console plans Re: my center console build and plans boater45, check your pm. kukiebs, for this console, i think fiberglass strand mat should be sufficient. doesn't really require that much strength. it's cheaper than woven. you can get 3' x 3' sheets at walmart for $4. Re: how to build a steering console a friend installed a nice console made out of mahogany on his 13' bw when he refurbished the boat. attached is a pic of that boat w/ console. btw - the boat is about 30 years old. the boat was in pretty rough shape and did an amazing job refurbishing it as it looks better than new!.
