stitch and glue method of boat building
Stitch and glue is a simple boat building method which uses plywood panels stitched together, usually with copper wire, and glued together with epoxy resin.this type of construction can eliminate much of the need for frames or ribs. plywood panels are cut to shape and stitched together to form an accurate hull shape without the need for forms or special tools. Stitch-and-glue boat building, along with the development of epoxy and modern mahogany marine plywood, has revolutionized and revitalized wooden boat building. this method of boat building is not only stronger, lighter, and faster than traditional wooden boat building, but it also takes far less skill. I have been using stitch and glue( weld ) techniques for building steel sailboats , up to 47 feet. we call it origami boat building. the quickest and most practical way to get a hull together. it's as simple as it looks.
